Mentre ero a Bologna per lo Smell Festival, durante il mio workshop "Capire e raccontare il profumo" ho avuto il piacere di conoscere di persona una ragazza che aveva giocato quest'inverno alla mia Blind Sniff Roulette, una giovane davvero in gamba che si chiama Anna D'Errico. Anna è tostissima, bella e intelligente ed oltre a fare la neuroscienziata all'Istituto di Biofisica Max Planck di Francoforte dove studia i meccanismi che regolano l'olfatto, riesce a farne un tutt'uno con le altre sue passioni: i profumi e la danza. Giovedì 6 giugno a Roma alle Ex Vetrerie Sciarra (zona San Lorenzo) si terrà il V Convegno Internazionale di Neuroscienze che quest'anno ha per tema Dialoghi tra Teatro e Neuroscienze (seguite il link e troverete l'intero programma). Se siete in zona, alle ore 9.00 Anna interverrà parlando de "Il naso in scena: percezioni olfattive e dimensione teatrale". Focus della ricerca è lo studio dell'infuenza che la dimensione olfattiva può esercitare sia sui performer in scena che sul pubblico. Io mi sto già mangiando le mani perché non potrò andarci ma sono gasatissimo che si parli di questi argomenti in un contesto così importante e sono ancora più orgoglioso che a farlo sia un'italiana! Non mancate!

While I was in Bologna for the Smell Festival for my workshop "Capire e raccontare il profumo", I had the pleasure to meet a girl who joined my Blind Sniff Roulette the last winter, really a smart young woman called Anna D'Errico. Anna is great, beautiful and intellingent and aside being a neuroscientist at the Max Planck Institure of Biophysics in Frankfurt where she studies the mechanisms of the sens of smell, she succeds in combining it together with her other passions: perfumes and dance. On Thursday June 6 in Rome at the Ex Vetrerie Sciarra (San Lorenzo area) there will be the V International Conference of Neuroscienze focusing this year on Dialogues between Theatre and Neuroscience (follow the link for the whole agenda). In case you are in the area, at 9.00am Anna will give the lecture "The nose on stage: olfactory perceptions and theatral dimension". Focus of the research was to study the influence of the olfactory dimension on both performers on stage and the public. I'm kicking myself for not being able to join but I'm really happy these topics will be discussed in such important context and I'm even prouder an italian will do that! Save the date!
