Esxence 2017: Scent Diary #1

Fenicotteri all'ingresso del Giardino dell'Eden

Esxence è sempre una ventata di nuovi marchi e nuovi lanci che rendono i quattro giorni una vera e propria maratona anche per giornalisti più navigati e infaticabili. Il Giardino dell'Eden ha visto la mia settima partecipazione su nove edizioni e mi rendo sempre più conto col passare del tempo che quello che preferisco è il tempo che dedico a parlare con i protagonisti, o seguendo le conferenze oltre che naturalmente sentendo le fragranze e divertendomi ai party.
Quanto a festeggiamenti, l'Oscar quest'anno va al party dato da Xerjioff a Palazzo Visconti. L'atmosfera era incredibile e gli invitati hanno potuto godere di musifa dal vivo, performer in costume, vino e un delizioso buffet ma soprattutto dalle meravigliose decorazioni dei saloni dove Giuseppe Visconti, l'eccentrico fondatore di Gi.Vi.Emme profumi (che ha dato il via alla profumeria italiana contemporanea), e suo figlio il regista Luchino sono cresciuti. Un ringraziamento va a Sergio Momo per la grande opportunità di ammirare questi spazi raramente accessibili che connettono storia, bellezza e profumo.

Esxence is always a blast of new brands and new launches making the four days somehow a sniffathon even for the most experienced or jaded journalist. The Garden of Eden it’s been my seventh edition over nine and what strikes me out is the more time passes, the more what I enjoy is the time I can spend talking to people, learning from the conferences and enjoying scents and fun at parties.
As for parties the Oscar goes this year to the Xerjioff Party at Palazzo Visconti. The atmosphere was incredible, with people enjoying beautiful music, entertainers in costume, wine and delicious finger food but above all the amazing decorations of the salons where Giuseppe Visconti, the eccentric founder of Gi.Vi.Emme perfumes (that gave birth to contemporary Italian perfumery), and his son the director Luchino grew up. Thank you Sergio Momo for this great opportunity to see hardly accessible spaces connecting with perfume, history and beauty.

La Gardenia nell'Occhiello ha partecipato come web friend a molte edizioni di Esxence - The scent of Excellence e quest'anno dal 23 al 26 marzo ci sarò per condividere con voi qui e attraverso Facebook, Instagram e Twitter le indiscrezioni sui protagonisti e le novità più stuzzicanti in cui l'arte invisibile del profumo si rivelerà.
Gli ingredienti annunciati durante la conferenza stampa presso l'Hotel Principe di Savoia, uno dei più storici Luxury Hotel a cinque stelle di Milano, promettono davvero bene.

La Gardenia nell'Occhiello has attended many editions of Esxence - The Scent of Excellence as a web friend and this year on March 23rd-26th I'm looking forward to share with you here and through Facebook, Instagram and Twitter insights on the people and the exciting news the invisible art of perfume will show us.
The ingredients announced to the public during a press conference at the Principe di Savoia Hotel, one of the oldest Luxury 5 star hotels in Milan, really look promising.

Smellavolando

Nell'attesa di raccontarvi di più dell'edizione 2014 di Smell Festival dell'Olfatto che si è conclusa da poco a Bologna, voglio stuzzicare il vostro appetito sorvolando le pagine dello Smellavolario, il dizionario pindarico del profumo nato dall'immaginario di Francesca Faruolo che, come una molecola instabile, è sempre in fermento, pronta a reagire piacevolmente ad ogni stimolo.

Come fossero finger food per la mente e per l'olfatto, ho pensato di servirvi piccoli estratti, frasi che mi hanno colpito dei vari autori, fra cui Bernard Bourgeois, Christophe Laudamiel, Michel Roudnitska e altri che hanno partecipato a questo progetto.

Waiting to tell you more about the 2014 edition of Smell Festival dell'Olfatto just ended a few weeks ago in Bologna, let me tease your appetite sweeping the pages of the Smellavolario, the pindaric dictionary of perfume born from the imagination of Francesca Faruolo that as an instable molecule, is always in turmoil, ready to pleasantly react to stimuli.

Like finger food for mind and nose, I thought to offer you small quotes that struck me from various authors among which Bernard Bouorgeois, Christophe Laudamiel, Michel Roudnitska and others who joined this project.
