Il genio di Germaine Cellier si può solo misurare attraverso l'insieme delle sue immense, indimenticabili creazioni.
L'incontro decisivo è quello con Robert Piguet, un ex-modellista che si era fatto le ossa nell'atelier di Paul Poiret e che sul finire della Guerra aveva fondato la propria casa di moda. Il suo stile è vivace, tutto grinta e voglia di rivalsa sugli anni bui della guerra. Nel 1944 inaugura una storica collezione ispirata ai corsari e alle loro avventure nei mari lontani accompagnata dal lancio di Bandit, uno chypre cuoiato dalla sensualità crudele. Per evocare l'odore pericoloso di pellame e scorribande Germaine oserà l'1% d’iso-butyl-quinoleina, una molecola fino ad allora dosata con timore per la sua irruenza.

The genius of Germaine Cellier can only be measured within the frame of her larger-than-life, remarkable creations.
The crucial event was meeting Robert Piguet, an ex-modelist trained at Paul Poiret's atelier who after WWII enstablished his own fashion house. His style is lively, full of drive and desire for reward after the dark years of the war.

In 1944 he debuted with a mythical collection inspired by buccaneers and their adventures by faraway seas that was paired by the launch of Bandit, a leathery chypre bearing a brutal sensuality. To evoke the dangerous smell of leather and forays Germaine dares to use 1% of iso-butyl-quinoleine, a molecule doused till then with fear for its violence.

Ci siamo, questo weekend parte la prima edizione di Smell Festival Estate ospitata da Carovigno di Puglia e, visti i recenti tweet illustri dal Salento e le previsioni non posso che citare: "Siete pronti? Siete caldi?". "Anchio".
Peccato che la signora Ciccone sia dovuta ripartire perchè, da grande appassionata di profumi, sono certo avrebbe gradito il ricco calendario che ci attende al Castello Dentice di Frasso fra gli eventi, le bellezze naturali di Torre Guaceto e le gioie della tavola pugliese.

Here we are, next weekend starts the first edition of Smell Festival Estate guested by Carovigno di Puglia and, given the illustrious recent tweets from Puglia and the meteo, I can't help but quoting: "Siete pronti? Siete caldi?". "Anchio".
Pity Mrs. Ciccone had to leave because, being a well known perfume lover, I'm sure she'd have enjoyed the full agenda waiting for us at Castello Dentice di Frasso with events, natural beauties in Torre Guaceto and the joys of apulian cuisine.
