Le profumerie in città di fine agosto sono un po' come le signore che tornano dal mare: quest'ultime dopo essersi lasciate andare all'ozio vacanziero si rimettono in sesto rifacendosi un po' il look. Le prime rifanno le vetrine, spostano i cestoni dei saldi un po' meno in vista e riassortiscono gli scaffali con nuovi stock e novità per l'autunno. Così incuriosito ancora di più dopo la stroncatura di Octavian Coifan, giravo alla caccia di No. 19 Poudré di Chanel o Dahlia Noir di Givenchy per poterli sentire. Di quei due nessuna traccia ma ad un tratto mi cade l'occhio sul nuovo packaging di Vetiver di Guerlain che attendevo di vedere. Le voci di corridoio da tempo parlavano di riformulazione e il timore generale fosse che dopo la prima terribile concomitante col packaging a barre satinate, stavolta sarebbe stato il salto dalla padella alla brace.

Perfumeries downtown at the end of August are a bit like women getting back from vacations: the latter try to get back in their feet with a look remake after having led themself go on vacation. The first instead remake the windows, move the sale's baskets in a hidden corner and refill the shelves with new stocks and new launches for the fall. So being even more curious after reading latest Octavian Coifan's bad reviews, I was hunting for Chanel No. 19 Poudré or Givenchy Dahlia Noir to try them out. No traces of that two ones, but suddenly my eye fell upon the new packaging of Guerlain Vetiver I was waiting for. Since longtime rumors talked about a possible reformulation too and the general fear was, after the first terrible one in the satin bottle packaging this time it would have been like jumping out of the frying pan into the fire.

Passato ferragosto iniziano i primi segni di ripresa post-vacanze e con la riapertura dei vari negozi arrivano anche le novità per l'autunno. Così lo scorso weekend durante una scorribanda profumosa nella Milano deserta ho finalmente sentito il nuovissimo primo profumo della prestigiosa griffe Bottega Veneta.

Avevo alte aspettative per questo lancio visto che mi piace molto l'immagine chic ma non modaiola di questo marchio del lusso made in Italy che nasce con la pelletteria. Infatti loro cavallo di battaglia è la lavorazione del pellame intrecciato, motivo scelto anche per decorare le candele profumate della serie "intreccio" che qualche anno fa Bottega Veneta aveva prodotto in collaborazione con Artisan Parfumeur.

Anche per questo avevo grandi aspettative, proprio perché quelle candele ispirate ai fastosi ambienti della serenissima mi erano piaciute e non solo: il fatto di avere prodotte con Artisan Parfumeur denotava già un'attenzione particolare al mondo delle fragranze che purtroppo il fashion system oggi non ha più.

Right after mid-August it's time to get back from vacations and as the various shops re-open also the new fall launches arrive on the market. So the last weekend during a perfume-tour in a still desert Milan, I finally smelled the brand-new first perfume of the glamorous griffe Bottega Veneta.

I had high hopes for this launch since I like very much the chic but not fashionable image of this made in Italy luxury brand born with leather goods. In fact their signature is the leather-weathing tecnique "intreccio", decoration also chosen to decorate the scented candles serie "intreccio" some year ago Bottega Veneta produced together with Artisan Parfumeur.

Also for this reason I had great expectations, right because I liked that candles inspired by the sumptuous Serenissima spaces, but not only: the fact that Artisan Parfumeur produced them already denoted a particular care for the world of scents that unfortunately the fashion system nowadays doesn't have anymore.

Parlando di profumi vintage è sorprendente come a volte ci capitino sotto gli occhi dei tesori inattesi, quasi fossero lì ad aspettarci sonnecchiando in un negozio o tra le pagine del web, proprio come qualcuno che passeggiando in un campo inciampi in un'anfora greca. Così è successo a me e Nyneve navigando in rete di imbatterci in questo rarissimo parfum vintage. Fortuna ha voluto che fosse anche perfettamente conservato nella sua verdissima modernità.
Futur venne creato nel 1967 dalla Maison Robert Piguet nel tentativo di rilanciare una griffe che pativa la decadenza sentita anche nel lancio poco fortunato di Cravache del 1963 e venne poi discontinuato nel 1974. Certamente a contribuire allo scarso successo delle due fragranze fu anche la chiusura delle boutique da parte del couturier nel 1951 e la sua successiva morte nel 1953. Cravache, un fougère maschile di impianto classico tuttavia sopravvisse a lungo mentre Futur col suo fondo morbido e asciutto era probabilmente troppo moderno per essere capito dalle donne dell'epoca.
