La seconda parte di questo Scent Diary da Pitti Fragranze parte dall'Italia che continua ad essere terra di talenti brillanti. Prendendo ispirazione dal romanzo di Tomasi di Lampedusa Il gattopardo portato al grande schermo da Luchino Visconti, l'ultima creazione del profumiere Antonio Alessandria Gattopardo ritrae l'animo nobile della Sicilia in chiaroscuro con una luminosa ondata di geranio, fico e whiskey contrapposti all'opulenza di un patchouli vellutato intessuto dall'oro di cera d'api, iris, cacao ed una scia golosa di pasta di mandorle. Spruzzate, chiudete gli occhi e giurerete anche voi di essere stati ospiti dell'imperioso Don Fabrizio, Principe di Salina.

The second part of my Scent Diary from Pitti Fragranze lands to Italy that continues to bring forth brilliant talent.Taking inspiration from Tomasi di Lampedusa novel The Leopard put on screen by Luchino Visconti, perfumer Antonio Alessandria’s latest addition Gattopardo portrays the Sicilian noble soul in chiaroscuro with a bright load of geranium, fig and whiskey set against the opulence of velvety patchouli gilded in beeswax, iris, cocoa and a luscious Sicilian almond pastry trail. Spray, close your eyes and you swear you were a guest of the imperious Don Fabrizio, Prince of Salina.

Asolo è un luogo vicino a Treviso che è stato scelto per la sua bellezza da regine e nobili sin dal rinascimento. Prende il suo nome la Asolo Perfumes, il meglio dell'offerta di DFG 1924, un nuovo marchio che debutta seguendo le orme del nonno del fondatore, il farmacista Giustino Dalla Favera. Il profumiere Roberto Dario ha concepito due bei nettari verdi ispirati al giardino dell'esploratrice Freya Stark e dai versi del poeta Giosuè Carducci che descrivono il panorama. Cento Orizzonti con il suo mix di accenti talcati e retro anni '70 uniti ad un più moderno mazzetto di erbe sapide rende bene l'idea di una passeggiata fra questi paesaggi alpini.

Esxence 2017: Scent Diary #3

Asolo is a place close to Treviso that's been chosen for its beauty by queens and nobles since the Renaissance. It also gives the name to Asolo Perfumes, the top offer from DFG 1924, a new brand debuting along the footprints of the founder’s grandfather, pharmacist Giustino Dalla Favera. Perfumer Roberto Dario built beautiful green nectars inspired by the garden of explorer Freya Stark and by the words of poet Carducci describing the wanderlust. Cento Orizzonti (hundred horizons) with its mix of 70s retro powdery hints and savory modern herbs definitely conjures up a morning walk looking those Alps landscapes.

Amo le sinestesie perché sono potentissime, ti catapultano fisicamente in un'emozione, riesce a congiungerti coi suoi aspetti più viscerali e con quelli più sublimi. Ecco perché mi fa piacere poter segnalare questa iniziativa che unisce la pittura e la profumeria anche se si trova un po' lontano.

Synesthesia Project è una mostra curata da Miguel Matos, critico, esperto di fragranze e contributor di Fragrantica che ha voluto coinvolgere l'artista portoghese Gabriel Garcia in un dialogo dove il pittore lasciandosi penetrare dall'emozione liquida di ciascuna fragranza, ha lasciato fluire le sue impressioni attraverso il colore su tela.

I love synesthesia because it's so powerful, it physically throw you into emotions succeeding to correlate its most visceral aspects to the most sublime ones. That's why it is my pleasure to draw your attention to this event joining painting and perfumery, even if it's far away from Italy.

Synesthesia Project is an exhibition curated by Miguel Matos, critic, fragrance expert and Fragrantica contributor who worked in dialog with the portuguese artist Gabriel Garcia letting him be inspired by the liquid emotion of various fragrances that have been impressed through colours on canvas.

Neela Vermeire porta a Fragranze parecchie novità. Prima fra tutte l'arrivo in casa Kaon che distribuirà la sua linea in Italia. Secondo i nuovi stilosissimi flaconi disegnati da Pierre Dinand e molto più maneggevoli, assieme alla nuova confezione. Ultimo ma non meno importante il lancio ufficiale di Ashoka, quarta creazione di Duchaufour dedicata al leggendario imperatore indiano vissuto nel 300 A. C. Come un monarca saggio, il sandalo Mysore è incoronato dalla luminosità delle note verdi di fico e mimosa e si ammantata della sontuosità di osmanthus e iris. Il suo sillage regale mi ha stregato quindi presto ve ne riparlerò.

NU_BE

Nuove esalazioni scaturiscono dalla crosta terrestre, materie in continua mutazione di stato come l'immaginario creativo di NU_BE che si affida ancora ad Antoine Lie per dare forma a [80Hg] Mercury e [16S] Sulphur. Floreale ozonico insolito, Mercury è un fluido scintillante, nautico ed umano in cui fluttuano petali caduti. Quello che mi ha affascinato di più però è Sulphur, uno chypre moderno aromatico e sulfureo dal finale vellutato e minerale con tanto di zampata caprina e fumosa. Emblematico del dualismo luciferino, maschile e femmineo, brutale ed raffinatissimo.

Neela Vermeire brings to Fragranze a lot of good news. First of all she joined the Kaon team that will distribute her line in Italy. Second the new stilish flacons designed by Pierre Dinand and far more handy, together with the new packaging. Last but not least the official launch of Ashoka, Duchaufour's forth creation dedicated to the legendary indian emperor who lived in 300 A. C. Like a wise monarch, Mysore sandalwood wears a bright crown with green notes of fig leaf and mimosa while covering itself up in osmanthus and iris sumptuousness. Its regal sillage bewitched me so soon I'll be back to you with more about it.

NU_BE

New fumes spring from the earth’s crust, everchanging substances like the creative imagination of NU_BE which entrusts again Antoine Lie with the task to shape [80Hg] Mercury and [16S] Sulphur. Unusual ozonic floral, Mercury is a shining fluid, nautical yet human with faded petals floating under its metallic surface. What charmed me more though is Sulphur, an aromatic and sulphureous modern chypre ending in a mineral velvet complete with a smoky animal kick. Emblematic of the diabolic dualism, masculine yet feminine, brutal yet so refined.
