Jul et Mad raccontano dell'ispirazione di un ballo in maschera a Venezia, della complicità di due amanti che giocano dietro le maschere e si perdono ebbri di vino e d'amore fino all'alba.
La prima cosa che balza al naso è l'apertura speziatissima in cui il pepe nero con la sua freschezza balsamica, l'odore medicinale del chiodo di garofano e soprattutto l'oro poudré della noce moscata spiccano grazie alle meravigliose essenze naturali di Robertet. Queste spezie importate da Bisanzio decretarono la fortuna della Serenissima a partire dal XV secolo e sono anche entrate a far parte dei piatti più raffinati della sua tradizione culinaria assieme ad un altro elemento orientale, l'agrodolce, presente anche nell'accordo ambrato grazie al contrasto fra dolce e sapido. Sono i profumi della cucina ricca delle feste che uniti alla nota di testa liquirizia del labdano danno una sensazione edibile se non gourmand. Amour de Palazzo è una classica ambra speziata che prende materiale olfattivo non solo dalle pietanze, ma dai profumi di tutta la tavola imbandita. Il patchouli ombroso e morbido si fa scranno rivestito in pellame leggero, suggerito da foglie di viola, cedro Atlas e castoreum. La fine porcellana dei muschi poudré rende omaggio anche alle gote delle commensali con un accenno cosmetico. I pavimenti lucidati e l'odore grasso di candele e fumo riempiono l'aria e mettono in sordina la voce animale dell'oud. Seppure utilizzato in oriente da millenni e tuttavia scoperto dai nasi occidentali solo qualche lustro fa, l'oud è diventato uno dei tanti colori della tavolozza del profumiere e qui apporta una sensualità contemporanea evitando per un soffio di cadere nel trop classique.

The first think that comes up to the nose is the very spicy opening ruled by black pepper wth its balsamic freshness, the medicinal smell of clove and above all the gold powderiness of nutmeg that shine thanks to the amazing natural essences from Robertet. These spices imported from Byzance granted the fortune of Serenissima since the XV century and have become part of the most refined dishes of its traditional culinary art together with another oriental element, sweet and sour that often is present also in the ambery accord thanks to the mix of sweet and savoury. These are the smells of the rich cookery of celebrations that coupled with the licorice topnote of labdanum bring a non-gourmand yet edible vibe. Amour de Palazzo is a classic spicy amber bringing olfactory material not just from the dishes, but from the whole prepared dining room. Shady smooth patchouly becomes a wooden chair covered in fine leather given by violet leaves, Atlas cedarwood and castoreum. The fine porcelain of powdery musks pays hommage also to the ladies cheeks with a cosmetic hint. Waxed wood floors and the fatty smell of candles and smoke fill the air and mute the animalic voice of oud. Despite being known since millennia in the East yet discovered from western noses only a few more than a decade ago, oud has become just one of the colours from the perfumer's palette and here it brings a contemporary sensuality preventing by a hair's breadth the scent to become trop classique.

Jul e Mad si incontrano un giorno in una terrazza parigina. Poteva mancare il lieto fine? Oltre a dividere lo stesso tetto, la coppia divide la passione per i profumi e così ha deciso di imbottigliare l'essenza della loro storia nella collezione Histoire d'Amour composta di tre extrait de parfum creati in collaborazione con Dorothée Piot (Olfactive Studio Chambre Noire, Amouage Memoire Woman).

Sulla pelle Stiletto on Lex, Terrasse à St-Germain e Amour de Palazzo rivelano tutte le qualità desiderabili in una fragranza: struttura, texture quasi tattile, tenuta e sillage. L'unico peccato veniale che si potrebbe imputare per pignoleria è che una mano così ben bilanciata avrebbe anche potuto osare senza paura anche un pizzico di chiaroscuro in più. Peccato perdonabile quando il risultato brilla per l'eleganza disinvolta che mostra un discreto carattere. Madalina Stoïca or simply Mad is a charming romanian woman who studied cosmetics and fragrance marketing in New York. Jul and Mad met a day at a parisian terrace. Could we miss the happy end? Aside sharing the same home, the couple share the passion for fragrances and so they decided to bottle the essence of their story with the collection Histoire d'Amour composed of three extrait de parfum created together with Dorothée Piot (Olfactive Studio Chambre Noire, Amouage Memoire Woman).

On skin Stiletto on Lex, Terrasse à St-Germain and Amour de Palazzo reveal all the qualities desirable in a fragrance: structure, almost tactile texture, lasting power and sillage. In an excess of fussiness one could ascribe them only the venial sin that such a well balanced touch could have dared fearlessly a bit more chiaroscuro. Forgivable sin when the result shines in its relaxed elegance showing also some temper.
