Candele: la mia wishlist natalizia

Dopo aver parlato di come scegliere una buona candela, in clima di regali profumati dell'ultimo minuto, ho pensato di fare un giro a caccia di candele. Queste son quelle che mi hanno stuzzicato, pensieri luminosi per dare luce e fragranza all'attesa del Natale. Naturalmente ci sono gli aromi della tradizione, le spezie calde e i canditi dei piatti delle feste, ma a sorpresa anche richiami all'albero di Natale e al presepe, con un po' di golosità per finire.

Le Labo Laurier 62: dalla cucina al laboratorio il passo è breve e il mazzetto aromatico diventa una candela dominata dagli aspetti verdi e quasi floreali di alloro ed eucalipto, per poi svelare un fondo ricco di balsami e spezie su un letto caldo di chiodo di garofano, ambra e sandalo. Packaging essenziale e moderno per un Natale techno-chic.

Candles: my Xmas wishlist

After writing about how to chose a fine candle, speaking about last-minute gifts I thought to make a trip around looking for some candles. Here are the ones that excited me, luminous presents to light and scent the Christmas holidays. Of course there are traditional smells, spices and candied fruits from the festive dishes, but surprisingly also references to Christmas tree and Christmas crib, with a little bit of titbits in the end.

Le Labo Laurier 62: from the kitchen to the laboratory it's just one step and a bunch of aromatic herbs becomes a candle ruled by green, almost floral facets of laurel and eucaliptus, revealing later a rich mix of balsams, spices over a warm bed of clove, sandalwood and abler. Conoscete qualcosa che faccia più atmosfera di una candela? Dato che le amo alla follia, le brucio tutto l'anno ma è soprattutto nel periodo invernale che le candele entrano nei nostri desideri. Sarà per il calore che regalano, o forse perché se ne trovano per tutti i gusti e per tutte le tasche che sono anche protagoniste dei regali profumati di Natale. Come sceglierle però? Parlandone con gli amici del forum di Adjiumi ho riflettuto su come si distingue una buona candela e su quali siano i trucchi per potercela godere al meglio una volta accesa . Fare una buona candela è più difficile di quanto sembri e coinvolge vari aspetti tecnici che proverò a semplificare. Cosa dobbiamo guardare allora per scegliere una buona candela?

Can you think of something that creates atmosphere more than a candle? Since I'm madly in love with them, I burn them all year round but it's mostly in winter that candles fall into our wishlist. Maybe because of the warmth they give, or because there are candles suitable for every taste and wallet they go straight on top of the perfumed Christmas gifts. How to chose them though? Talking about it with my friends on the Adjiumi forum, I thought about what makes a good candle and what are the tips and tricks to enjoy it at best once lit. Making a good candle is more difficult than what we imagine and involves various technical aspects I will try to simplify. So what are che things that we must look for in choosing a candle?

Le candele di Gini Fragranze: il respiro della terra

E' cosa nota, ho un debole per le candele e se non ve ne parlo spesso è solo perchè provare una fragranza è più facile che provare una candela. Il bello della candela rispetto agli altri modi di profumare un ambiente è che bisogna viverla. Una volta accesa è come un focolare che va custodito, che diffonde calore, luce e fragranza, che fa compagnia mentre ce la godiamo da soli e aggiunge atmosfera se stiamo con qualcuno. Nelle sere invernali godo spesso della compagnia di una candela ed un bicchiere di vino quindi lo scorso settembre nei giorni di Pitti Fragranze ho accettato con grande entusiasmo l'invito di amici appassionati di vino e profumi a scoprire le candele di Gini Fragranze.

Gini Candles: the breath of the earth

It's well known I have a weakness for candles and the only reason I don't write more often about them is because testing a fragrance is easier than testing a candle. Unlike other home fragrances, the beauty of candles is you have to live with it. Once lit, it is like a fireplace that needs you to look after it and diffuses heat, light and fragrance. It makes good company if you enojy it on your own and adds a certain atmosphere if you're with someone. During the winter evenings I often enjoy burning candles while sipping a glass of wine, that's why during the days of Pitti Fragranze I got entusiastic when some friends passionate about scents and wine invited me to discover Gini Fragranze candles.
