In occasione delle Giornate Europee del Patrimonio 2014, l'Osmothèque di Versailles apre le sue porte e la sua collezione di profumi. Il 20 settembre dalle 10.00 alle 17.30 sarà possibile infatti visitarla gratuitamente, parlare con gli straordinari profumieri che operano con passione e seguire un ciclo di conferenze che vi faranno percorrere un viaggio olfattivo attraverso il tempo alla scoperta di un patrimonio invisibile ma unico al mondo, fatto di tesori olfattivi la maggior parte dei quali è sparita.

During the European Heritage Days 2014, the Osmothèque Versailles opens its doors and its perfume collection. On September 20th from 10.00 to 17.30 it will be possible to visit it for free, meeting the extraordinary passionate perfumers that keep it alive and attend to a serie of lectures that will make you experience an onfactory journey through times discovering this invisible yet absolutely unique heritage made of olfactory treasures mosty disappeared.

Cologne 1871: Astier de Villatte per Commune de Paris

Finalmente è arrivata l'estate di lunge giornate e calura e con essa anche l'oramai consueta carrellata di eau fraîche, cologne e flanker estivi della profumeria commerciale che puntualmente al mattino risenti addosso a tutti in metropolitana, uno uguale all'altro, uno più detersivo dell'altro.
Così, io che tipicamente amo le fragranze decisamente più sontuose, ogni anno rimango sempre spiazzato su cosa indossare.  Nessun problema se la sera mi concedo effluvi densi che acquistano ancora più malìa col caldo ma di giorno la scelta è ardua. Ci vorrebbe una bella colonia ma come coniugare leggerezza e profondità?
Negli ultimi anni poi nella profumeria commerciale e non, c'è stato un rilancio dell'acqua di colonia, modo di profumarsi associato ad una ritualità così antica ma così sconosciuta alle giovani generazioni di consumatori da poter essere riproposta dal marketing come moderno gesto di benessere. Fortunatamente fra mille proproste si trova anche qualcosa di interessante.

Finally summer has come with its long days and the heat and together with it also the usual roundup of eau fraîche, cologne and summer flankers of mass market fragrances that every morning unfailingly you smell everywhere in the tube, one equal to the other, one more detersive than the other.
So, since I typically like more sumptuous fragrances, every year I'm always wrongfooted by what to wear.  No problem whether at evening I indulge myself with dense smells that become even more bewitching in the heat, but during the day it's hard to pick one. I'd need a good cologne but how to couple lightness with depth?
During the last years afterwards in the mass market perfumery and not only, there has been a relaunch of colognes, a way to scent themselves associated to such an ancient ritual and thus unknown by the new generations of customers that can be reproposed by marketers as a wellness modern gesture. Fortunately there's also something interesting among thousand offers.
